Providence to Logan, door to door
Providence sits about 51 miles southwest of Boston Logan, roughly a 54-minute drive by I-95 and the Ted Williams Tunnel when the road is clear. I-95 through Attleboro and Route 128 at rush hour, and the tunnel approach, are what move that number, so we set the pickup from your flight time rather than from a rule of thumb.

Providence is well served without us: the MBTA Providence/Stoughton commuter rail line and Amtrak both run from Providence Station to South Station, where the Silver Line SL1 continues to the terminals, and Peter Pan runs a bus between downtown Providence and Logan. Many travellers also fly from T.F. Green, ten minutes south of downtown, and skip Logan altogether. For a solo traveller with a carry-on and time in hand, any of those can be the sensible choice, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
A private car earns its cost in the cases the train and bus handle badly:
- Early departures and late arrivals - flights outside the timetable, when the alternative is an airport hotel or a two-transfer journey with luggage.
- Two or more travellers - one vehicle beats several fares plus the Silver Line leg.
- Luggage, children or equipment - anything you would rather not carry through South Station.
- A meeting on either end - door to door, and a chauffeur who waits if the meeting runs long.
- The East Side, Cranston, Warwick, Barrington - the train starts at the station; we start at your door.

Landing at Logan, riding home to Providence
ALVE is Massport-authorized to operate at Logan, so pickups run under the airport's own livery rules rather than around them. Logan has four terminals - A, B, C, and E - and by default your chauffeur meets you curbside at your arrival terminal. If you would rather be met inside at baggage claim, Logan requires meet and greet to be booked as a separate service; it is $50 per greeting, added when you book.
