New Bedford to Logan, door to door
New Bedford sits about 60 miles south of Boston Logan, roughly 1 hour 5 minutes by Route 24, I-93 and the Ted Williams Tunnel when the road is clear. Route 24 into Randolph and the Southeast Expressway are what move that number, so we set the pickup from your flight time rather than from a rule of thumb.
The fare is fixed before the trip and includes tolls, parking and waiting time. Arrivals are tracked automatically from flight data, so a late inbound moves the pickup without a phone call. The public options, and when a car is the better call
There is no Logan Express station on the South Coast. The public options from New Bedford are the MBTA South Coast Rail line to South Station followed by the Silver Line SL1, or the Peter Pan bus from the downtown terminal. For a solo traveller with a carry-on and a flexible schedule, either can be the sensible choice, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
A private car earns its cost in the cases the train and bus handle badly:
- Early departures and late arrivals - flights outside the timetable.
- Ferry connections - a boat and a flight in one day leaves no room for a missed connection.
- Two or more travellers - one vehicle beats several fares plus the Silver Line leg.
- Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Mattapoisett - the train starts at the station; we start at your door.

Meeting you at Logan
Logan has four terminals: A, B, C and E. For arrivals we track the flight and meet you at the curb by default; an in-terminal meet and greet at baggage claim is available as an add-on. For departures we build in the margin Route 24 deserves at that hour.
