Hyannis to Logan, door to door
Hyannis sits about 72 miles southeast of Boston Logan, roughly 1 hour 19 minutes by Route 6, Route 3 and the Ted Williams Tunnel when the road is clear. The Sagamore Bridge on a summer Friday or Sunday and Route 3 into Braintree are what move that number, so we set the pickup from your flight time and the season rather than from a rule of thumb.
The fare is fixed before the trip and includes tolls, parking and waiting time. Arrivals are tracked automatically from flight data, so a late inbound moves the pickup without a phone call. We also meet the Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard ferries at the Hyannis terminals. No gratuity is added to your bill; tipping is at your discretion.
The public options, and when a car is the better call
There is no Logan Express station on the Cape. The public option from Hyannis is the Plymouth & Brockton bus, which runs between the Hyannis Transportation Center and Logan's terminals, and in summer the seasonal CapeFLYER train to South Station followed by the Silver Line SL1. For a solo traveller with a carry-on and a flexible schedule the bus is hard to beat on price, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.
A private car earns its cost in the cases the bus handles badly:
- Early departures and late arrivals - flights outside the timetable, when the alternative is an overnight near the airport.
- Ferry connections - a boat and a flight in one day leaves no room for a missed bus.
- Two or more travellers, or a family with beach luggage - one vehicle beats several fares, and nobody carries anything.
- Villages away from Hyannis - the bus starts at the terminal; we start at your door in Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis or beyond.
We set out the full comparison, including the parts that do not favour us, on our Logan Express comparison page.
From the Logan curb to your Hyannis door
Arrivals at Logan are tracked automatically from flight data - if your inbound runs late, the pickup moves with it, no phone call needed. By default your chauffeur meets you at the curb outside your terminal. If you would rather be met inside at baggage claim, Logan requires meet and greet to be booked as a separate service; we offer it at $50 per greeting.
On the Hyannis end, we drop wherever the trip actually ends: the Hy-Line and Steamship Authority ferry terminals for Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard sailings, hotels and inns around Main Street, the Hyannis Transportation Center, or a private address in Barnstable, Yarmouth, Dennis and beyond.
Traveling with small children? Infant, toddler and booster seats are available, installed by ALVE chauffeurs, and added to the fare as a paid option - tell us the children's ages when you book.
Our phone is answered 07:00-22:00, and dispatch operates 24/7, so an early-morning or late-night Logan pickup is dispatched and monitored like any other.
